Wow I read Christian’s article today and felt pretty bad that I get on you guys at practice about making sure you don’t waste any time, or something like that. NOT!
 
I will continue to insist that we use every minute possible to prepare you all for the upcoming meets help you to improve your stroke technique while swimming even faster. As we discussed last Thursday we will begin working on specific strokes for identified swimmers next week in preparation for the upcoming championship meets. There are still a few swimmers who I would like to see swim in certain events before we go to the SMAC Meet so be prepared to swim something new at the next meet or two.
 
The swimmers and coaches liked the way practice was constructed Thursday, boy/girl so we are going to try that for a while. As we are swimming our sets of choice strokes ensure that the faster strokes i.e. Free and Fly are in the lead of your lane while the slowest stroke i.e. breast is in the back. This will ensure that you get the most out of practice.
 
Make sure you check out the videos posted on You-Tube. A lot can be learned from actually seeing how you swim.

Congratulations Canes! Your hard work in the pool has paid off, and was evidenced by your significant number of dropped times last night, while defeating Calvert and McDonough.

It's amazing that already this season we have two new school records! Congrats to Brianne Palensky for besting her own Breast Stroke record, and Luke Dohrman for setting the 500 free record!

Make sure to read 12/18/09 Calvert Recorder because there is a good Athletes Journal about your team written by our own Aron Morgan.

Lastly, but pretty important....Ensure you are ready for your events at the meets. We had two swimmers not prepared and one missed his event completely. If you are not feeling well ensure you let me know! Once again, Great Meet last night, and I'll see you for practice when the snow stops!
